About Me
Hello, I'm Khem!
I run Ommingbird Yoga and teach yoga classes in the beautiful country villages surrounding Wallingford and Didcot in South Oxfordshire.
I discovered the enormous benefits of yoga as a teenager and have had a regular yoga practice of my own for over 20 years. Yoga has supported me through many phases of my life.

I worked for several years as a Marketing Events Organiser, before moving into Education, training and working as a Primary School Teacher. After having two children of my own, I felt it was time to reassess what I wanted to do and made one of the best decisions I've ever made. I decided to combine my organisational and teaching skills with something I am passionate about: Yoga.
Keen to bring the many benefits of yoga to others, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training. Since then I have experienced the immense reward of supporting and guiding others to develop a yoga practice of their own.

About My Classes
Yoga for Body, Mind and Soul
I teach Hatha Yoga, which is generally considered a gentle, slower-paced form of yoga and is excellent for those looking for a mindful, calming practice.

I have a holistic approach and my classes aim to support students physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
In terms of the physical practice, my classes move through traditional postures. Within each asana I offer plenty of options so that students can listen to their bodies and choose what feels good for them. In this way, the class can be as challenging or as gentle as you want it to be.

Mentally, we all need time to switch off those busy brains. Sometimes, we need to clear the mind and just breathe. For this reason, every class includes breath awareness and pranayama breathing exercises. I ALWAYS make time at the end of the class for relaxation and this can include Yoga Nidra, Visualisation and Meditation.

Emotionally, many students find my classes unlock emotional blockages held in the body. Yoga can be a great way to release and let go of any emotional baggage we are carrying around with us.

Spiritually, yoga sets you on the path to enlightenment and self-discovery.
